The Call Shop Global Calling package of Opto Telelinks Limited consists of the Terminal Equipments based on H.323 Protocol Standards and the Billing software and the soft-switch to enable and disable the booths as per the requirement of the applications.

The major advantage of this technology is it consists of both IP based long distance communications and the Q931 based PSTN calling depends on the proven least cost routing Technology. The principle of operation of the call shop using Opto Telelinks Technology is when the caller approaches front desk for making the calls based on deposit, they will be assigned a booth which is free with a token Number. Now they can make calls to whichever destination they wish and the billing system will allow them to make calls to the amount pre-deposited or to the programmed value. As soon as the programmed threshold value exceeds, the call gets disconnected and gives a printout automatically. On the backend it uses the least cost routing using different reliable carriers such as Opto Telelinks Ltd. who provides worldwide connectivity using its IP Technology backbone.

The billing system also synchronizes the billing of the Carrier based on the agreed prices of the carrier side. At the end of the day or any part of the day the system can give you the net profit after deducting the input costs of operations as per the program. The concept is so advanced and user-friendly that it can be deployed in any part of the world.

Presently English version of the Software is available to be deployed in English speaking World and soon this software is available in various other language versions.

How the Technology works

The Technology works as per the standards of H.323. For the customer of call shop there is no difference of making calls as he/she can make calls as per the regular way by dialing the country code, area code and the destination Numbers. But behind the systems it works as mentioned here. Once the activation of the booth is done using the front desk billing the customer can make calls by lifting the handset as usual. Once the call is dialed the system sends the call to the soft-switch built-in to the terminal set which determines the least cost routing path as programmed and the Number is then sent to the least cost and reliable carrier through the IP. The call detail information is sent to the billing system, which tracks the calls.
